CM Chandrababu Invited to Durga Malleshwara Dasara Celebrations
Officials and members of the governing board of the Sri Durga Malleshwara Swamy Temple in Vijayawada invited Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu on Wednesday to attend the Dasara festivities scheduled to be held from October 11 to 20 on Indrakeeladri.
The temple authorities formally extended the invitation to the Chief Minister as preparations gather pace for the annual Dasara Navaratri celebrations, which are among the major religious events held at the famous temple atop Indrakeeladri. The festivities are expected to bring a large number of devotees to Vijayawada during the 10-day period.
During the meeting, temple priests presented Goddess Durga’s sacred robes and prasadam to Chandrababu Naidu. The priests also performed Vedic rituals and offered their blessings to the Chief Minister.
Following the traditional ceremony, the Chief Minister sought details from the temple officials regarding the arrangements being made for the upcoming celebrations. He reviewed the preparations and emphasised the need to ensure that devotees visiting the temple have access to necessary facilities throughout the festival period.
Chandrababu directed officials to make comprehensive arrangements for devotees and ensure that pilgrims do not face difficulties during their visit. He stressed the importance of making adequate arrangements in advance, particularly in view of the large number of people expected to participate in the Navaratri festivities.
The Chief Minister also instructed the authorities to focus on providing a smooth and convenient experience for devotees during the celebrations. The directions come as temple officials step up preparations for the annual festival, which attracts devotees from Vijayawada and various parts of Andhra Pradesh.
The meeting was attended by Durga Temple Governing Board Chairman Borra Radhakrishna, Endowments Department Commissioner Ramachandra Mohan, temple Executive Officer Sheena Naik, and other members of the temple governing board.
The temple authorities are expected to continue coordinating with the concerned departments to complete arrangements ahead of the celebrations and ensure that devotees can participate in the festivities without inconvenience.
