CM Chandrababu Naidu To Hand Over Pattadar Passbooks During West Godavari Visit
Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu is scheduled to visit West Godavari district on Monday as part of the state government's Mee Bhoomi–Mee Hakku (Your Land–Your Right) programme , aimed at strengthening land ownership records and addressing farmers' grievances.
During the visit, the Chief Minister will distribute newly issued Pattadar Passbooks to farmers and interact directly with beneficiaries to review the implementation of the programme and gather feedback on land-related issues.
According to an official statement, Naidu will attend a public meeting at Siddhantham village in Achanta constituency . The government has undertaken a large-scale exercise to rectify errors in previously issued land records and conduct fresh resurveys in the presence of landowners before issuing updated passbooks.
The programme forms part of the state's broader effort to modernise land administration and provide farmers with accurate ownership documents. Under the initiative, the Chief Minister has been personally participating in monthly interactions with beneficiaries, during which officials verify land details before passbooks are handed over.
Government data shows that resurveys have been completed in 6,688 villages across Andhra Pradesh since January. Over the past six months, nearly 2.64 million farmers from 6,459 villages have received Pattadar Passbooks. The state aims to complete resurveys in another 10,357 villages over the next nine months and eventually distribute about 6.73 million passbooks statewide.
A key feature of the programme is the introduction of blockchain-based land records , a first-of-its-kind initiative in India, according to the government. Under the system, each land parcel is assigned a permanent blockchain identification number, making records tamper-resistant and improving transparency in land administration.
The process also incorporates mandatory e-KYC verification at every stage. Farmers are first provided draft passbooks to review their land details, and final passbooks are printed only after verification and confirmation through the e-KYC process.
