CM Chandrababu Orders Action Against Coaching Centres Involving Students in Politics

The Andhra Pradesh government has warned private coaching centres against involving candidates preparing for competitive examinations in politically motivated protests and agitations. Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu has directed officials to take legal action against institutions violating regulations and ensure strict enforcement of the Andhra Pradesh Coaching Institutions Regulation Rules-2026 under Government order No. 9.

During a review with senior officials, the Chief Minister discussed recent developments involving some private coaching centres. Officials reportedly informed him that certain operators were being pressured to mobilise candidates to criticise the government and that students were being encouraged to participate in political programmes and protests. Chandrababu said candidates should not be used for the vested interests of coaching centre managements when their priority should be competitive examination preparation.

He instructed field-level officials to closely monitor coaching institutions and act firmly against those violating GO No. 9 or putting pressure on students. The government also advised candidates to stay focused on their careers and examination preparation and report any problems or undue pressure to the authorities.

Meanwhile, Chandrababu said the government is committed to providing a permanent and secure house to every eligible family by 2029 under its Housing for All programme. He directed officials to complete 5.52 lakh houses by March 2027 and prepare them for housewarming ceremonies. Houses sanctioned under schemes such as PMAY-Gramin and PM-JANMAN should be grounded by next month, he said.

The state has received sanctions for 18.72 lakh houses under PMAY 1.0, PMAY 2.0 and PM-JANMAN, with 13.20 lakh already completed. Officials were also asked to focus on another 1.5 lakh houses in urban areas and secure additional funding from the Centre.

To identify families genuinely requiring house sites, the government plans to integrate data from RTGS, Awaas Plus, Housing and Revenue departments and eliminate duplication. Preliminary beneficiary lists will be displayed at village and ward secretariats, followed by transparent disposal of objections and preparation of final lists.

The Chief Minister also called for unused land in existing layouts to be reorganised into two- or three-cent plots wherever required and mapped to eligible beneficiaries.

Separately, he directed officials to explore industrial townships in major industrial zones, including Sri City, in coordination with APIIC and with Central support. The initiative is expected to strengthen economic activity and generate employment opportunities. Housing Minister Kolusu Parthasarathy and senior officials from the Housing and Finance departments attended the review.
