Seeking to position Andhra Pradesh as a hub for innovation, investment, and sustainable urban development, Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu unveiled an ambitious vision for Amaravati at the prestigious World Cities Summit in Singapore, presenting the proposed capital as a future-ready city built around people, technology, and opportunity.

Addressing an international gathering of policymakers, urban planners, and business leaders, Naidu said Amaravati is being developed as more than an administrative capital. Instead, he described it as a people-centric city designed to offer high-quality living standards, economic opportunities, and environmentally sustainable growth.

Speaking during a leadership session on the theme "Can Smart Cities Love Humans?" , the Chief Minister stressed that development must ultimately improve the lives of citizens. "People are our first priority," he said, adding that Amaravati combines equality, nature, innovation, and economic growth within a single urban framework.

Planned along the banks of the Krishna River , Amaravati is envisioned as a modern waterfront city supported by extensive infrastructure, including ring roads, iconic bridges, and integrated transport networks. The city will feature dedicated zones such as a Financial City , Knowledge City , Health City , Sports City , and Tourism City , aimed at creating a diversified and globally competitive economy.

Naidu highlighted the state's unique land pooling model , under which farmers voluntarily contributed nearly 35,000 acres for the capital project. He said participating farmers are being given developed plots in return, allowing them to benefit directly from the city's long-term growth.

Drawing parallels with the rise of Cyberabad , Hyderabad's technology corridor, Naidu argued that visionary urban planning can generate significant economic value and attract large-scale investments. He said Amaravati is being positioned as a major centre for education, innovation, and emerging technologies, with plans to develop advanced digital infrastructure and a Quantum Computing Hub .

Beyond urban development, the Chief Minister also used his Singapore visit to court global investors. At a Semiconductor Ecosystem Roundtable , he invited international companies to explore opportunities in Andhra Pradesh, citing the state's investor-friendly policies and emphasis on the "Speed of Doing Business."

He announced plans for a major semiconductor manufacturing facility in the Rayalaseema region, which he said has strong potential in electronics, aerospace, defence manufacturing, and automobile industries.

Naidu's engagements in Singapore reflected Andhra Pradesh's broader push to attract global capital and partnerships while advancing Amaravati as a symbol of the state's economic aspirations and long-term development vision.
