
CM Pledges Housing for All Poor Families by 2029
Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu has reaffirmed the state’s commitment to ensure no poor family remains homeless, promising permanent houses for all eligible families by 2029. Landless families will receive 2 cents in urban areas and 3 cents in rural areas free of cost. He also warned of strict legal action against officials involved in past housing sector corruption.
The government plans mass housewarming events from Ugadi , aiming to complete 10.63 lakh house allocations this year, including 2.26 lakh in June and 2.10 lakh in September. Citizens are urged to apply promptly through a transparent selection process.
On agriculture, the CM unveiled a ‘Pancha-Sutra’ policy supporting farmers with water security, demand-based crops, food processing, marketing, and government aid. Under Annadata Sukhibhava , farmers will receive ₹20,000 annually, double the previous government’s support. Quick payouts to 47 lakh affected farmers have already totaled ₹310 crore, with another ₹816 crore credited within 24 hours of procurement.
Rayalaseema will become a horticulture hub , with ₹1 lakh crore in public-private investments planned. Near Eluru, the state will set up the world’s largest Cocoa City , and electricity for aqua units will be provided at ₹1.50 per unit, aiming to make Andhra Pradesh a global aqua hub. Farmer suicides will be monitored with audits, and modern farming practices will reach common farmers through AI agronomist services.
Groundwater levels have improved in districts like Annamayya, saving ₹95 crore in electricity and adding ₹1,634 crore to GSDP. Natural farming now covers 15 lakh acres, with a target of 50 lakh acres.
Irrigation Minister Nimmala Ramanaidu confirmed accelerated work on the Polavaram left main canal, ensuring water supply to Anakapalli by June 2026, with ₹600 crore earmarked in the 2027 budget for the Sujala Sravanthi project.
The Assembly was adjourned until March 4.
