BRS Working President K.T. Rama Rao (KTR) launched a scathing attack on the Congress government in Telangana and Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy, alleging that internal factionalism and political vendetta within the Congress were responsible for senior leader Meenakshi Natarajan being denied a Rajya Sabha nomination.

Addressing the Khairatabad BRS general body meeting in Hyderabad on Sunday, KTR alleged that Revanth Reddy was known for turning against even members of his own party. He claimed that Meenakshi Natarajan had reportedly brought to the notice of the Congress high command issues relating to land transactions and contract-related irregularities involving the Chief Minister. According to him, this led to a politically motivated campaign against her, including the registration of a false case in Hyderabad. He further alleged that details of the case were shared with BJP leaders to prevent her elevation to the Rajya Sabha.

KTR also criticised the Chief Minister's style of functioning, accusing him of displaying authoritarian tendencies that were incompatible with democratic values.

Turning his focus to governance, KTR described the Congress government's two-and-a-half-year tenure as an “utter flop” , arguing that it had failed to fulfil the promises made during the Assembly elections. Comparing the administration to a failed film, he remarked that the government's performance had become disappointing long before reaching the midpoint of its term.

Questioning the status of Congress' employment commitments, KTR asked what had happened to the promise of providing two lakh jobs within the first year of assuming office. He alleged that even a small fraction of that target had been achieved and accused the government of abandoning its promise to provide a Rs 4,000 monthly unemployment allowance to eligible youth.

The BRS leader also challenged Revanth Reddy's claim of creating one crore women millionaires , stating that he was prepared to quit politics if the Chief Minister could prove the claim. He further alleged that the government owed substantial financial benefits to women beneficiaries under its welfare commitments.

On the political front, KTR asserted that a by-election in Khairatabad was inevitable following the defection of MLA Danam Nagender to the Congress. He urged party workers to remain vigilant during the upcoming voter-list revision exercise and actively participate in digital membership enrolment drives.

Highlighting the achievements of the previous BRS administration under K. Chandrashekar Rao, KTR said the government had established four TIMS hospitals and 350 Basti Dawakhanas , significantly strengthening healthcare infrastructure. He also criticised the Congress government for renaming the Annapurna free meal programme.

KTR credited the BRS government with ensuring 24-hour power supply , improving drinking water access and granting land rights to lakhs of families through policy measures. He strongly criticised demolition drives undertaken by HYDRAA , alleging that poor families were bearing the brunt of the exercise. Accusing the Congress government of failing to undertake meaningful housing initiatives for the poor, he expressed confidence that growing public dissatisfaction would pave the way for a strong BRS comeback in future elections.
