CM Revanth Invites Rajnath Singh to Inaugurate Defence Expo 2026 in Telangana

Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy has invited Union Defence Minister Rajnath Singh to inaugurate the proposed Defence Expo 2026, which will be organised as part of the Invest Telangana Global Summit–2026 at Bharat Future City from December 7 to 9.

During a meeting with the Defence Minister in New Delhi, Revanth Reddy, accompanied by several Members of Parliament, discussed key issues concerning Telangana and sought the Centre’s support for hosting the defence exhibition on an international scale.

The proposed Defence Expo is expected to bring together stakeholders from the aerospace, defence and space sectors. Plans include a major industry conference, an air show, an industrial exhibition and live demonstrations of advanced land defence systems. The Chief Minister said the participation and guidance of Rajnath Singh would provide a major boost to defence companies, startups and young scientists from across the country.

Revanth Reddy also requested the Defence Ministry to facilitate the required airspace clearances for the air show and support the participation of Indian Air Force aircraft, including the Suryakiran and Sarang aerobatic teams. He sought assistance for a static aircraft display and the exhibition of advanced defence technologies used by the Army, Navy and Air Force.

The Chief Minister further urged the Ministry to encourage leading defence public sector companies such as HAL, BEL, BDL and MDL, along with DRDO laboratories, to participate and showcase India’s indigenous defence capabilities. He also sought the Centre’s support in facilitating meetings with foreign defence representatives, bilateral delegations and international defence industry organisations.

The meeting also focused on infrastructure and land-related matters. Revanth Reddy informed Rajnath Singh that the Telangana government had already acquired 750 acres for the proposed Adilabad airport and was prepared to acquire the remaining land required to meet the Defence Ministry’s total requirement of 1,500 acres.

In another proposal, the Chief Minister said the Telangana Industrial Infrastructure Corporation (TGIIC) had agreed to allot 416.18 acres for a major DRDL project in Devarakadra mandal of Mahabubnagar district. The land is proposed to be leased for 33 years at a nominal annual rent of Re.1, with an option to extend the lease twice if necessary.

State Energy Minister G. Vivek Venkatswamy, MPs Anil Kumar Yadav, Mallu Ravi, Suresh Shetkar and Balaram Naik, government adviser Harkara Venugopal Rao, Chief Secretary Sanjay Jaju and others attended the meeting.
