CM Revanth Reddy Accuses KTR of Driving Kavitha Out Over Property Dispute
Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy on Sunday alleged that BRS working president K.T. Rama Rao (KTR) forced his sister K. Kavitha to leave the family home because he did not want to share property with her. He questioned how someone who could not ensure justice for his own sister could protect the interests of Telangana's women.
During his visit to Medaram in Mulugu district, Revanth Reddy offered prayers at the gaddes of tribal deities Sammakka and Saralamma, presenting jaggery equivalent to his weight as an offering. He later planted a sapling and inaugurated a drinking water plant for devotees.
The Chief Minister also launched the statewide distribution of Cheyutha pensions for widows and single women, personally handing over pensions to eligible beneficiaries. He inaugurated the new Collectorate complex in Mulugu and interacted with self-help group members and pilgrims about livelihood opportunities and their concerns.
Addressing a public meeting, Revanth Reddy said he considered Minister D. Anasuya (Seethakka) his sister despite having no blood relation. He recalled beginning his padayatra from Mulugu as PCC president and promised development of the Mallur Narasimha Swamy temple and Jampanna Vagu. He also assured a special review of irrigation projects and funding to address tribal problems.
Revanth Reddy renewed his criticism of BRS MLA T. Harish Rao, repeating allegations that he had performed rituals in Karnataka and Tamil Nadu seeking drought in Telangana. Harish Rao rejected the charge on August 15, accusing the CM of targeting him for raising issues such as corruption, incomplete loan waivers and fertiliser shortages, and said he would pursue a defamation case.
On education and employment, Revanth Reddy advised students to consider ITIs, polytechnics and the Skill University, while encouraging them to explore job opportunities in Germany and Japan and learn the respective languages. He also announced parrot-green Indiramma sarees as a Bathukamma gift.
The CM unveiled the HAM Roads project, aimed at developing 2,145 rural roads connecting villages with mandal headquarters and major highways. Several ministers, MPs, MLAs and senior officials attended the programmes.
