Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy on Thursday inaugurated a new visual effects facility set up by Eyeline Studios , the production arm of global streaming platform Netflix, in HITEC City. The launch marks another milestone in Hyderabad’s emergence as a key centre for high-end digital content creation in India.
Spread across nearly 30,000 square feet , the new studio will focus on advanced visual effects, virtual production and post-production work for films and streaming content. The facility integrates the expertise of Scanline VFX with cutting-edge artificial intelligence tools to support large-scale international productions.
In his address at the inauguration, Chief Minister said Telangana is positioning itself as a global hub for the animation, visual effects, gaming and comics (AVGC) industry. He noted that the state government is committed to creating a supportive ecosystem for creative technology companies through policy support, infrastructure development and skill-building initiatives.
The Chief Minister also highlighted Netflix’s evolution from a DVD rental service to one of the world’s leading streaming platforms , saying its investment in Hyderabad reflects growing global confidence in the city’s talent pool and production capabilities.
Actor and producer Rana Daggubati , who was present at the event, said the AVGC sector in Telangana has immense growth potential and could generate up to one million jobs by 2030. He added that the arrival of global studios will create opportunities for local artists, technicians and digital creators.
Officials said the new facility is expected to hire local professionals for specialised roles such as surfacing artists and other VFX experts. With international studios increasingly choosing Hyderabad for production and post-production work, the city continues to strengthen its position in the global visual effects and digital entertainment industry.
