CM Revanth Reddy Orders Early Tenders For Musi Project Phase-2

Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy has directed officials to accelerate the land acquisition process for the Musi Riverfront Development Project and complete the preparatory work required to invite tenders for Phase-2 at the earliest.

During a high-level review meeting at the MCR HRD Bodhi Pavilion on Tuesday, the Chief Minister called for a clear policy on land pooling as part of the acquisition process. He stressed that the procedures should be framed carefully to prevent legal complications in the future.

Revanth Reddy instructed officials to formulate specific guidelines for acquiring land falling under the Full Tank Level (FTL), buffer zones and assigned land categories. He emphasised the need for a transparent and legally sound approach while taking forward the land acquisition required for various components of the riverfront project.

The Chief Minister also asked municipal commissioners to explore avenues for securing low-interest loans to finance different projects being undertaken within the Musi Riverfront development area. He directed officials to conduct a weekly review of the Transferable Development Rights (TDR) issuance process to ensure that it progresses without delays.

As part of the broader development plans, Revanth Reddy instructed authorities to immediately invite tenders for the construction of the Omkareswara Swamy temple near Gandipet-Manchirevula. He also called for wider publicity for the Kotwalguda Bird Park to increase public awareness and visitor interest.

The government is simultaneously advancing the first phase of the Musi rejuvenation programme. Phase-1 covers a 21-km stretch from Himayatsagar and Osman Sagar to Gandhi Sarovar/Bapughat, with the project estimated to cost around ₹6,000 crore.

The latest directions underline the government's focus on speeding up land-related procedures and financial arrangements so that the next stage of the Musi Riverfront project can move forward without administrative or legal hurdles.
