
CM Revanth Reddy Writes To Kishan Reddy Seeking Meeting With Railway Minister On Metro Phase-2 Issues
Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy has written to Union Minister G. Kishan Reddy, requesting him to facilitate a meeting with Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw to discuss key pending issues related to the Hyderabad Metro Rail project.
In his letter, the Chief Minister highlighted several unresolved matters concerning the Hyderabad Metro Rail Phase-2 expansion, including issues linked to funding support from the Indian Railway Finance Corporation and other procedural clearances required for the project’s smooth progress.
Revanth Reddy recalled his earlier communication dated June 16, 2026 , and reiterated the urgency of addressing pending issues without delay. He stressed that timely decisions are essential to ensure steady progress of the metro expansion works.
The Chief Minister also mentioned that he would be in New Delhi on June 22 and 23 , requesting that a meeting be arranged with the Railway Minister during his visit. He said such a meeting would help enable a detailed discussion on all pending matters and ensure that facts, agreements, and supporting documents are properly placed on record for further action.
Describing the Hyderabad Metro Rail project as more than just a transport initiative, Revanth Reddy said it is a crucial urban infrastructure project that plays a key role in the overall development of Hyderabad and Telangana. He emphasised that resolving the pending issues at the earliest is necessary to meet the city’s growing public transport needs .
