CM Vijay Assures Better Technology, Welfare Measures for Tamil Nadu Police

Tamil Nadu Chief Minister C Joseph Vijay on Sunday extended his greetings to the state police force on the occasion of Police Day, assuring personnel that his government would focus on reducing their workload, improving operational efficiency through technology and strengthening welfare measures for officers and their families.

In his message, Vijay praised police personnel for their dedication, courage and sacrifice in maintaining peace and upholding the rule of law across the state. He said their contribution extends beyond crime prevention and maintaining law and order, noting that police personnel frequently work in challenging and hazardous circumstances to safeguard people and their property.

The Chief Minister said the government would prioritise measures aimed at easing the workload of police personnel and enabling them to perform their duties more efficiently. Greater use of modern technological facilities would be encouraged to strengthen policing capabilities and improve operational effectiveness, he said.

Vijay also emphasised the importance of welfare initiatives for police officers and their families. He assured that the government would work towards ensuring the necessary welfare schemes and support systems for personnel who remain committed to public service.

Highlighting the role of the police during emergencies, the Chief Minister said personnel have repeatedly stood on the front lines during natural disasters and other hazardous situations, putting their own safety at risk to protect the lives, property and rights of citizens. He described the service rendered by police personnel as worthy of eternal praise, acknowledging the sacrifices made by members of the force in the line of duty.

Vijay also called upon citizens to cooperate with the police and strengthen relations between the public and law enforcement agencies. He urged people to work with the force in an atmosphere of trust and harmony, saying collective efforts were essential to building a peaceful and secure Tamil Nadu.

The Chief Minister’s message came as the state observed Police Day, an occasion dedicated to recognising the contribution of police personnel to public safety and the maintenance of law and order.
