CM Yogi Pitches 75,000-Acre Land Bank, Pushes Electronics and Semiconductor Growth
Seeking to position Uttar Pradesh as India's next major manufacturing and technology powerhouse, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Saturday invited domestic and global investors to tap into the state's 75,000-acre industrial land bank , highlighting a combination of ready-to-use industrial land, sector-specific policies, timely incentives, and a streamlined single-window clearance system .
Speaking at the foundation stone laying ceremony of the Amber Enterprises India Ltd. and Ascent-K Circuits electronics manufacturing facility in Jewar, Gautam Buddh Nagar , Adityanath said Uttar Pradesh had undergone a significant transformation in recent years, driven by improved law and order, infrastructure expansion, and investor-friendly governance.
The new project, involving an investment of over ₹6,045 crore , is expected to generate substantial employment opportunities while strengthening the state's rapidly growing electronics manufacturing ecosystem. The Chief Minister said the government has formulated policies for 36 sectors , enabling investors to establish projects with minimal bureaucratic intervention.
A key highlight of Uttar Pradesh's investment strategy is its 75,000-acre land bank , comprising industrial land held by agencies such as UPSIDA, YEIDA, NOIDA and GNIDA . The land has already been identified and earmarked for industrial use, allowing companies to avoid lengthy acquisition processes and begin operations faster. Officials view the land bank as a critical advantage in attracting large-scale manufacturing, logistics, semiconductor, and infrastructure investments.
Much of this land is concentrated in the Noida-Greater Noida-Jewar corridor , which is emerging as the state's flagship industrial zone. Anchored by the upcoming Noida International Airport , the region is being developed into a hub for electronics manufacturing, semiconductors, data centres, warehousing, logistics, and export-oriented industries.
Adityanath said Uttar Pradesh has already become India's largest MSME hub , with more than 96 lakh registered enterprises , while the Noida-Greater Noida region accounts for nearly 55 per cent of India's mobile phone production and around 55-60 per cent of electronic components manufacturing .
The state is also aggressively building a semiconductor ecosystem. Major projects in the Yamuna Expressway region include the HCL-Foxconn joint venture India Chip Pvt Ltd , which is investing ₹3,706 crore , Ascent Circuits' ₹3,250-crore facility , and Amber Enterprises' ₹3,532-crore electronics manufacturing project . Together, these investments exceed ₹11,000 crore .
The Chief Minister said Uttar Pradesh's broader goal is to transition from a labour-exporting economy to a manufacturing and export-driven growth model. Backed by expressways, industrial corridors, logistics infrastructure, and large-scale investments, the state aims to generate jobs locally, reduce migration, and contribute to India's vision of becoming a developed and self-reliant nation by 2047 .
According to the state government, investment proposals worth nearly ₹45 lakh crore have been secured through investor outreach initiatives, with projects worth around ₹15 lakh crore already under implementation and another ₹5 lakh crore-plus expected to be grounded in the coming phases.
