Collector Garima Agrawal Promotes Early Learning, Boosts Govt School Enrolment Drive
As part of the ongoing “Badi Bata” enrolment campaign to boost admissions in government schools, District Collector Garima Agarwal on Friday visited an anganwadi centre in Ashireddipalli village of Chendurthi mandal and actively engaged with young children to promote early childhood learning.
During her visit, she personally introduced basic alphabet learning to the children, stressing the importance of strong foundational education at an early age. She interacted with the children and later distributed school uniforms, encouraging their smooth transition into formal schooling.
She also appealed to parents to enrol their children in government schools, noting that these institutions provide free textbooks, notebooks, mid-day meals, and nutritional support , ensuring equitable access to quality education for all students.
Earlier in the day, the Collector facilitated the reopening of the Gollapalli primary school, which had remained shut for the past two years due to lack of admissions. With student enrolments improving this academic year, the school has been revived following administrative intervention.
She underlined that strengthening the public education system requires community participation and reaffirmed the government’s commitment to providing quality education and essential learning resources in government schools.
Later, she visited the pre-primary section at Kishatampeta, where she inspected learning materials such as educational toys and activity-based tools designed for young children. She also reviewed the progress of admissions for the current academic year with education officials.
Emphasising the value of play-based learning , the Collector advised parents and teachers to reduce children’s dependence on mobile phones and instead encourage them to engage in studies and outdoor activities for holistic development.
