
CRPF personnel suffers gunshot injury in Rajouri
A Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) personnel was hospitalized on Tuesday after sustaining a gunshot injury under suspected circumstances at a camp in Tandwal, Rajouri district.
The jawan was immediately shifted to the Government Medical College (GMC) Associated Hospital, Rajouri, where he is currently undergoing treatment.
Authorities have confirmed that police have taken cognisance of the incident and initiated legal proceedings to investigate the circumstances surrounding the firing.
Possible reasons for the gunshot injury include accidental discharge, friendly fire, self-inflicted or intentional firing, external attack, or weapon malfunction. While a fight with another jawan has not been confirmed, investigations are underway to determine the exact cause.
