CUET UG 2026 Results Out, Devina Gahlot, Daughter of BJP MLA Kailash Gahlot, Emerges National Topper

The CUET UG 2026 results have been declared, revealing a year of exceptionally high academic performance across the country, with Devina Gahlot of Delhi emerging as the All India Topper in one of India’s largest undergraduate entrance examinations.

The examination, conducted by the National Testing Agency , saw intense competition this year, with more than 11.64 lakh candidates appearing out of over 15.68 lakh registrations . The test continues to serve as a key gateway for admissions into central, state, and participating private universities across India.

Devina Gahlot, daughter of BJP MLA and former Delhi minister Kailash Gahlot , is a student of Delhi Public School, Vasant Kunj , and secured an outstanding 1232.19 out of 1250 , placing her at the very top of the national merit list. Her performance stands out in a cycle marked by high scores and tight competition among top rank holders.

Among other remarkable performances, one candidate achieved a rare milestone of 100 percentile in four out of five subjects , marking the strongest subject level result this year. Additionally, 22 candidates secured 100 percentile in three subjects, 180 candidates in two subjects, and 3,214 candidates in at least one subject, reflecting the depth of high achievers across the country.

The top five rank holders also featured strong performances. Saksham Goel of Delhi secured second position with 1,230.82 , followed by Udit Chaturvedi of Himachal Pradesh with 1,207.21 . Shreyansh Mishra of Bihar and Khushi Sablok of Uttar Pradesh completed the top five list.

The gender wise data indicated a closely fought competition at the highest level, with the top female scorer narrowly outperforming the top male candidate. The marginal difference highlighted near parity in top tier academic performance.

The Common University Entrance Test Undergraduate 2026 was conducted across 321 cities , including international centres, covering 37 subjects comprising languages, domain specific papers, and a general aptitude test. Candidates were allowed to choose up to five subjects, offering flexibility in academic pathways.

According to the agency, the evaluation was based on final answer keys reviewed by subject experts, ensuring accuracy and fairness. The result declaration process was also significantly faster this year, with outcomes released within just 16 days after the examination concluded .

Devina, who has also been a school topper in her Class 12 CBSE board examinations , attempted five subjects including Economics, English, Psychology, Political Science, and Fine Arts , and delivered consistently strong performance across all.

Following the results, she reportedly expressed surprise at securing the top national rank, stating that while she was confident about her performance, achieving the All India Rank 1 felt unexpected and surreal.

She is now preparing for her next academic journey and is reportedly aiming to pursue English Honours at leading Delhi University colleges , including St. Stephen’s College and Hindu College .

This year’s CUET UG results once again underline rising academic competition in India, with increasing participation, higher score distributions, and standout performances setting new benchmarks for university admissions nationwide.
