India remained ninth in the Commonwealth Games 2026 medal standings at the end of Day 6, taking its overall tally to 12 medals with two gold, seven silver and three bronze.

While India continued to add to its medal count through consistent performances across disciplines, the country is still chasing a move up the leaderboard as several medal events remain in the competition.

At the top of the standings, Australia continued its overwhelming dominance, amassing an impressive 80 medals, including 35 gold, 18 silver and 27 bronze. The Australians have built a commanding lead over the rest of the field and remain firm favourites to finish at the summit of the medal table.

Canada occupied the second position with 35 medals ( 13 gold, 10 silver and 12 bronze), while England stayed third despite having a higher overall tally of 42 medals, with 10 gold, 18 silver and 15 bronze. The rankings are determined by the number of gold medals won rather than the total medal count.

Host nation Scotland held fourth place with 15 medals, followed by Nigeria, Malaysia, South Africa, and New Zealand ahead of India in the standings.

India's campaign has been highlighted by a string of podium finishes, particularly silver medals, and the contingent will look to convert more opportunities into gold as the Games enter the decisive phase.

With several high-profile Indian athletes still set to compete in the coming days, the country will be aiming to improve both its medal tally and overall position before the competition concludes.
