DC And LSG Confirm Blockbuster Pant-Kuldeep Trade Ahead Of IPL 2027

In a high-profile player swap ahead of the IPL 2027 season, Delhi Capitals and Lucknow Super Giants have officially completed a trade involving star India internationals Rishabh Pant and Kuldeep Yadav.

Pant has moved back to Delhi Capitals for INR 15 crore , while Kuldeep Yadav has been traded to Lucknow Super Giants for INR 13.5 crore . The Indian Premier League confirmed the development through an official media advisory , formalising a deal first reported by Cricbuzz on May 29.

The trade is understood to be driven by both franchises looking to reset their core combinations and address recent performance inconsistencies , with each player expected to offer a better tactical fit in their new setups.

The move marks a return to familiar territory for Pant, who spent nine seasons with Delhi Capitals between 2016 and 2024. During that period, he made 111 appearances , the most by any player for the franchise, and also led the side as captain in 43 matches between 2021 and 2024.

Pant had joined Lucknow Super Giants at the 2025 mega auction for a record fee of INR 27 crore , but his stint failed to live up to expectations. Over two seasons, he scored 269 and 312 runs respectively , while struggling for consistency. His captaincy tenure also proved challenging, with LSG finishing seventh and tenth in those seasons.

Kuldeep Yadav, meanwhile, makes his switch after a strong overall stint with Delhi Capitals, where he picked up 72 wickets in 65 matches at an economy rate of 8.38 . However, his 2026 season saw a dip in form, managing only 10 wickets while conceding 10.30 per over .

The trade is expected to significantly reshape both franchises as they prepare for the next IPL cycle.
