The Gaza Health Ministry said that 1,005 Palestinians have been killed in Gaza since a ceasefire between Israel and Hamas was declared in October, as violence continues across the enclave despite ongoing diplomatic efforts.

The ministry reported near-daily Israeli strikes , including drone attacks, shelling, and gunfire along the dividing boundary between Israeli-controlled and Palestinian areas. Recent casualties have been recorded in central Gaza, Gaza City, Khan Younis, Jabalia, and Nuseirat refugee camp , where strikes have hit residential zones, displaced shelters, and surrounding infrastructure.

The Israeli military said it continues operations against Hamas and allied groups, claiming it is targeting militants. It confirmed killing two operatives from Hamas and Palestinian Islamic Jihad in recent weekend strikes and said its forces have expanded operational control to more than 60% of Gaza territory , with continued movement into contested zones.

According to mediators, including Egypt, Qatar, and Turkey, efforts to implement the U.S.-brokered truce remain stalled, with disputes over Hamas disarmament and Israeli withdrawal unresolved. Both sides have accused each other of repeated violations since the ceasefire began.

The Health Ministry also said the wider Gaza war death toll has surpassed 73,000 , with over 173,000 wounded , noting that its figures do not distinguish between civilians and combatants. Officials say the data is compiled by medical teams and widely used by international agencies.

The situation remains highly volatile, with continued strikes, displacement, and humanitarian pressure across the enclave despite ongoing ceasefire claims.
