Social media influencer Veeramani, from Madurai, Tamil Nadu, has gone viral after a simple request for a box of Deepavali sweets reportedly led to a series of unwanted cash-on-delivery (COD) orders. The incident has attracted widespread attention online, with actor Manchu Vishnu also reacting to the episode.

Known for his humorous videos and distinctive Tamil slang, Veeramani posted a video ahead of Deepavali asking his followers to send him a box of sweets. He also shared his address, hoping to receive festive treats from his audience. While some people initially responded positively and sent him sweets, the situation soon took an unexpected turn.

According to reports, pranksters began placing expensive COD orders in his name, resulting in delivery agents arriving at his residence with televisions, refrigerators, washing machines and smartphones. Food orders from Swiggy and Zomato also reportedly reached his home. One television order was said to be worth ₹1.69 lakh. Since Veeramani had not placed these orders, he was unable to accept the items or pay for them.

Screenshots circulated on social media also claimed that a JCB excavator and a military tank worth ₹70 crore had been ordered to his address. However, these claims have not been independently verified.

As the unwanted deliveries reportedly continued, Veeramani posted another video requesting people to stop the pranks. He said the situation was causing considerable stress. Despite his appeal, delivery agents allegedly continued arriving at his residence. Neighbours reportedly said he had packed his belongings and left the house because of the repeated disturbances. His current whereabouts have not been confirmed.

Actor Manchu Vishnu joined the online discussion with a humorous post asking Veeramani where he could send him sweets, adding to the story’s visibility.

What began as a festive request has highlighted the real-world consequences of online pranks, particularly the misuse of personal information and harassment through fake COD orders. The incident serves as a reminder that sharing someone’s details or placing orders in their name without consent can cause serious inconvenience and distress.
