The Delhi High Court on Thursday directed TV Today Network Ltd and its Managing Editor Anjana Om Kashyap to exercise restraint in their public statements against educator Faisal Khan, popularly known as Khan Sir , while also asking the educator to remove a social media post that allegedly disclosed details about the journalist’s child.

Justice Tushar Rao Gedela, while referring the defamation dispute to mediation , emphasized that restraint must be shown by both sides and urged an amicable resolution between the parties. The court also asked the defendants, including Khan Sir and other educators, to consider removing “unparliamentary” remarks from their posts.

The case also names Abhinay Maths founder Abhinay Sharma, ICS coaching co-founder Babita Tyagi, and Naiya Paar Education’s Arvind Bhadauriya as defendants. During the hearing, the court recorded assurances from both sides that references to children would be taken down and that no further provocative content would be posted.

The court observed that the dispute appeared capable of settlement and noted that both parties were willing to explore mediation through a senior mediator, with proceedings expected to begin immediately. The matter has been listed for further hearing next week.

The dispute arises from a May 29 broadcast on Aaj Tak , where Anjana Om Kashyap reportedly raised concerns over the credibility of YouTube-based educators amid the NEET paper leak controversy. The plaintiffs allege that between May 30 and June 4, several educators responded with social media posts that were defamatory and damaging to her personal and professional reputation. The defendants, however, contend that their remarks were a reaction to the broadcast.

TV Today Network and Kashyap have filed a defamation suit seeking ₹2 crore in damages along with a restraining order against alleged disparaging remarks. The High Court, without granting interim relief at this stage, had earlier directed the defendants to file responses and has now pushed the matter towards mediation, indicating a preference for settlement over prolonged litigation.
