Delhi Police have busted an alleged international drug trafficking network with the arrest of three Nepalese nationals and the seizure of 8.598 kg of high-quality charas valued at around ₹9 crore in the international illicit market, officials said on Friday.

The accused allegedly operated a messaging app-based drug distribution network , receiving orders digitally and accepting payments through banking channels. They were reportedly supplying commercial quantities of charas across Delhi-NCR .

An FIR has been registered under Sections 20, 25 and 29 of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act at Kotla Mubarakpur Police Station.

According to police, the operation was launched following specific intelligence inputs about three Nepalese nationals involved in narcotics trafficking. Acting on the information, police conducted surveillance and raided their residence in Kotla Mubarakpur on June 29, arresting Bharat Thapa (32), Govind Budha (32) and Jyoti Pun Magar (50) .

Police recovered 5.566 kg of charas from Magar, 1.552 kg from Thapa and 1.480 kg from Budha.

During interrogation, investigators allegedly found that Magar was the main supplier, sourcing the contraband through a Nepal-based contact operating near the Sonauli border along the Indo-Nepal frontier. Thapa and Budha allegedly handled distribution to retail customers in Delhi.

To evade detection, the accused allegedly deleted chats and call records after each transaction and used autorickshaws and bike taxis for deliveries.

Police said electronic devices, digital payment records and other evidence are being analysed to identify additional members of the syndicate, trace the financial trail and locate the Nepal-based supplier. Officials said the arrests have dealt a major blow to the alleged cross-border narcotics network.
