Delhi Police Clears CJP's June 20 Protest Seeking Education Minister's Resignation
Youth-led movement Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) has announced a protest at Jantar Mantar on June 20 after securing permission from Delhi Police, intensifying pressure on the Centre over the NEET paper leak controversy and other examination-related issues.
CJP spokesperson Saurav Das said the gathering would bring together students, parents, teachers and citizens from across the country to seek accountability for alleged paper leaks, examination irregularities and student welfare concerns .
According to Das, the organisation obtained police clearance for the demonstration after overcoming what it described as significant resistance. He appealed to artists, writers, musicians and students nationwide to join the mobilisation.
Addressing reporters earlier, CJP spokesperson Ashutosh Ranka reiterated the group's demand for the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan , arguing that the government's response to the examination controversy had been inadequate.
"Our position is clear. We want Dharmendra Pradhan to resign . We are coming again on June 20 for a protest because there has been no communication from the government," Ranka said.
The organisation also raised concerns over student suicides allegedly linked to examination-related stress and the ongoing controversy surrounding competitive exams. CJP claimed that multiple student deaths had been reported in recent days and called for ₹1 crore compensation for the families of affected students.
In a statement, the group described the situation as a "national emergency" and urged the government to take immediate corrective measures. While maintaining that it remains open to dialogue, CJP alleged that authorities had not engaged with the organisation despite weeks of protests and public appeals.
Founded by Abhijeet Dipke , CJP has emerged as a prominent youth-led movement campaigning on issues including examination irregularities, unemployment and recruitment delays . The June 20 protest is expected to further spotlight demands for exam reforms and greater accountability from education authorities.
