Delhi police nab drug supplier, seize Heroin worth Rs 1.5 Cr
Delhi Police on Friday arrested a 24-year-old man, identified as Guddu, for allegedly supplying heroin and recovered 339.5 grams of the narcotic valued at around Rs 1.5 crore from the Civil Lines area.
Officials said the arrest followed a tip-off received on Wednesday about a suspected heroin supplier expected to pass through the Chandgiram Akhara area near Ring Road red light in Civil Lines on a motorcycle. Acting on the information, police laid a trap and stopped a motorcyclist at around 7.40 pm. During a search, they found a black polythene packet containing the contraband.
Guddu, a resident of Majnu Ka Tila , reportedly confessed to procuring the heroin from Bareilly and intended to supply it in the Trans-Yamuna area . He claimed to have been involved in illegal narcotics distribution for the past three to four years . The motorcycle used to transport the drugs, allegedly borrowed from a friend, was also seized.
Police noted that Guddu had a prior record under the NDPS Act , with a case registered in 2022 at Rani Bagh police station . Investigations are ongoing to identify and apprehend the main source of the narcotics supply chain.
Authorities confirmed that all legal formalities under the NDPS Act have been completed, and the accused is in custody.
