Deputy CM Pawan Kalyan, MP CM Mohan Yadav Discuss Development and Wildlife Conservation

Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav met Andhra Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan at his camp office in Mangalagiri on Saturday, discussing key issues related to inter-state development and environmental conservation.

Mohan Yadav, who was in Vijayawada to participate in the ongoing Dasara Sharannavaratri celebrations at Indrakeeladri and Vijayawada Utsav 2.0, visited Pawan Kalyan’s office, where he received a warm welcome. The meeting provided an opportunity for the leaders to exchange views on areas of mutual interest and explore ways to strengthen cooperation between the two states.

A key issue raised during the discussions was the need to strengthen tiger conservation efforts in the Nagarjunasagar–Srisailam Tiger Reserve (NSTR). Pawan Kalyan emphasised the importance of protecting wildlife and preserving biodiversity in the region.

He also urged that the proposed agreement for the reintroduction of gaur, or Indian bison, into the tiger reserve be expedited. The initiative is aimed at supporting ecological balance and strengthening biodiversity conservation in the forest landscape. Pawan Kalyan further informed Mohan Yadav that he would visit Madhya Pradesh in the near future.

The meeting also featured an exchange of traditional gifts showcasing the cultural heritage of both states. Pawan Kalyan honoured the Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister with an Uppada silk shawl and presented him with a Kondapalli artwork depicting Sri Rama Pattabhishekam, an image of Goddess Durga created by artists from Srikalahasti, and Araku coffee.

In return, Mohan Yadav presented Pawan Kalyan with an idol of Lord Omkareshwar and prasad brought from the Jyotirlinga shrine.

The interaction highlighted the scope for closer cooperation between Andhra Pradesh and Madhya Pradesh, particularly in development, wildlife protection and biodiversity conservation. The proposed visit by Pawan Kalyan to Madhya Pradesh is expected to provide another opportunity to discuss areas of shared interest.
