
Deputy CM Pawan Kalyan Reviews EAGLE Unit Report on Narcotics Control and Cybercrime Actions
Andhra Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan on Friday met the head of the EAGLE (Elite Anti-Narcotics and Cybercrime Enforcement) unit and Cyber Crime IG A.K. Ravikrishna at his camp office in Mangalagiri, where the agency presented its annual performance report .
During the meeting, IG Ravikrishna briefed the Deputy Chief Minister on the unit’s ongoing operations aimed at curbing ganja and narcotics trafficking across the state. He outlined enforcement strategies being used to dismantle drug networks and highlighted the key outcomes achieved so far through coordinated action with other law enforcement agencies.
Officials explained that the EAGLE unit has been playing a crucial role in supporting the government’s broader push to eliminate drug abuse and strengthen preventive policing mechanisms. The discussion also focused on strengthening surveillance and intelligence-based operations to further disrupt illegal supply chains.
A significant part of the briefing covered rising concerns over cybercrime and online harassment , particularly cases involving social media abuse, trolling, and objectionable content targeting women. The IG informed that the cybercrime wing has been taking swift legal action backed by digital evidence , ensuring quicker investigations and prosecution in such cases.
The Deputy Chief Minister was also apprised of the department’s efforts to enhance public awareness on safe digital practices and improve reporting mechanisms for victims of online abuse.
Reiterating the government’s commitment, officials stated that public safety, women’s security, and cybercrime prevention remain top priorities, with special emphasis on technology-driven enforcement.
The meeting underscored the administration’s intent to strengthen both anti-narcotics operations and cyber policing capabilities , ensuring a safer and more secure environment across Andhra Pradesh.
