Digital Trail Reveals 2,004 Calls in Pune Realtor Murder Case, Fiancée, Alleged Lover Arrested
Pune police have uncovered what they describe as a meticulously planned conspiracy behind the death of 26-year-old realtor Ketan Agarwal , alleging that his fiancée Siya Goyal and her alleged lover Chetan Chaudhary remained in constant contact for months before the fatal incident.
According to investigators, the duo exchanged 2,004 phone calls and spent nearly 238 hours speaking over the past six months. Police believe the extensive communication played a crucial role in planning Agarwal’s murder at Lohagad Fort on June 18.
Officials said Goyal and Chaudhary allegedly met at a café on the day of the incident before heading to the fort, where they identified a suitable location from which Agarwal could be pushed into a gorge. Both accused have been arrested and remanded to police custody.
The investigation has also revealed a series of alleged failed attempts preceding the death. Police claim Goyal deliberately misplaced Agarwal’s passport on June 6, forcing the cancellation of a planned pre-wedding trip to Bali. Investigators are also probing an alleged incident on June 14, when Goyal is suspected of attempting to push Agarwal off a cliff, though he reportedly survived after grabbing onto nearby vegetation.
Agarwal and Goyal got engaged in February and were scheduled to marry in November in Udaipur. Police said family members informed investigators that Goyal had repeatedly persuaded Agarwal to visit Lohagad Fort in the weeks leading up to his death.
The case was cracked through a combination of call detail records, digital evidence, and CCTV footage , which allegedly captured Chaudhary following the couple at the fort. Authorities maintain the pair viewed Agarwal as an obstacle to their relationship.
The investigation remains ongoing, and the allegations are yet to be tested in court.
