“Downey Is Coming Back”: Tom Holland Shares Private MCU News With Zendaya

Actor Tom Holland has shared that he first told his wife Zendaya after learning that Robert Downey Jr. is set to return to the Marvel universe as Doctor Doom in ‘Avengers: Doomsday’ .

Speaking in an interview, Holland said the news came directly from Downey himself. Excited by the revelation, he immediately told Zendaya, saying, “Downey is coming back.”

Holland, who is widely known among Marvel fans for accidentally leaking spoilers in the past, admitted that this time he managed to keep the information mostly private. However, he confirmed that Zendaya was the only person he shared it with.

He also revealed that he and Downey remain in touch and occasionally catch up. According to Holland, Downey personally called him to share the news, which he described as “really exciting.”

The actor further said that Marvel Studios intentionally keeps him away from major plot details due to his history of revealing spoilers. He added that even he is unsure about future storylines and is curious about how his character Peter Parker will fit into upcoming films.

Holland also reflected on his excitement about returning to the MCU and working again under Marvel’s expanding storyline plans.

The interview comes as Holland and Zendaya continue promoting ‘Spider-Man: Brand New Day’ , scheduled for release on July 31 , and Christopher Nolan’s ‘The Odyssey’ , releasing on July 17 .

Earlier, Holland also confirmed that he and Zendaya got married this year, describing their relationship as a strong emotional support system while navigating life in the public eye.
