Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) National President Nitin Nabin on Monday pledged full Union government support for the nationwide Drug-Free India campaign, expressing confidence that sustained efforts could help make the country free from substance abuse by 2029.

Addressing the valedictory ceremony of the Brahma Kumaris’ Global Summit 2026, themed ‘From Awakening to Action’, at the Shantivan campus in Sirohi district, Rajasthan, Nabin emphasised the importance of combating addiction to protect young people and strengthen the nation.

Speaking at the Diamond Hall, Nabin said the Union government was committed to supporting the anti-addiction initiative launched under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership. He also referred to Union Home Minister Amit Shah’s pledge to work towards achieving the 2029 target through dedicated efforts and firm resolve.

Nabin stressed that the country’s progress and youth empowerment were closely linked to the success of anti-drug initiatives. He noted that young people overcoming substance abuse would not only safeguard their own futures but also protect their families’ hopes and contribute to national development.

Earlier on Monday, Nabin arrived at Dabok Airport in Udaipur, where he was welcomed by Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma, Cabinet Minister Babulal Kharadi, Udaipur Mayor Paras Singhvi and BJP District President Gajpal Singh. Before leaving for Sirohi-Abu Road, he held organisational discussions with local party leaders at the airport’s VIP lounge.

Bhajanlal Sharma also shared a message on X, welcoming the BJP national president and referring to discussions on Rajasthan’s overall development and strengthening the party organisation.

Nabin’s Rajasthan visit followed a high-level BJP strategy meeting in New Delhi on Sunday, attended by Amit Shah, representatives of the party’s national IT and media wings, and state office-bearers.

The meeting focused on preparations for five state Assembly elections scheduled for early 2027. The BJP aims to retain power in Uttar Pradesh, Goa, Uttarakhand and Manipur, which has experienced ethnic violence, while expanding its political presence in Punjab, currently governed by the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP).
