
Emergency response constable booked in sexual exploitation case in UP’s Sultanpur
In a serious development from Uttar Pradesh, a constable attached to the state’s emergency response service Dial 112 has been arrested in Sultanpur district following allegations of sexual exploitation made by a local woman.
The complaint was filed by a woman from a village under the Baldirai police station limits in Sultanpur. Based on her allegations, a First Information Report (FIR) was registered against the constable, who was posted with the Dial 112 emergency response unit, a service meant to provide immediate police assistance to citizens.
According to the police, the woman accused the constable of sexually exploiting her. After the case was formally registered, a police team initiated an investigation and took the accused into custody.
Baldirai Station House Officer Narad Muni Singh confirmed that the constable was arrested soon after the FIR was lodged. On Thursday, he was taken to the Community Health Centre in Baldirai for a medical examination. He was later produced before a local court.
The court remanded the accused to 14-day judicial custody pending further investigation.
The incident has raised concerns as the accused was part of a public emergency service meant to ensure citizen safety. Authorities said a detailed probe is underway and further legal action will follow based on the findings.
