Poor families who have realised their dream of owning a house this year will celebrate Diwali with happiness, dignity and a sense of pride in their new homes, Telangana Revenue and Housing Minister Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy said. He added that the government had launched the 'Maa Indiramma Intlo Deepavali' programme following Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy's call to share the festive spirit with beneficiaries of the Indiramma housing scheme.

The minister toured Nandigama mandal in Rangareddy district on Saturday, accompanied by local MLA Veerlapalli Shankar, public representatives, the District Collector and officials from various departments. During the visit, he inaugurated several completed development projects and laid foundation stones for new infrastructure works.

At Nandigama, Ponguleti participated in an Indiramma housewarming ceremony, joining beneficiaries in entering their newly constructed homes. He presented gifts to the families and blessed the women beneficiaries, encouraging them to celebrate Diwali with joy in their new houses.

The minister inaugurated additional classrooms at the Zilla Parishad High School, built at a cost of Rs 2 crore, and an MPDO office constructed for Rs 1.75 crore. Other inaugurated facilities included a women's federation building, an Anganwadi building, a primary school building and a mandal Congress party office. These facilities were constructed at a combined cost of Rs 45 lakh.

He also laid foundation stones for a new Tahsildar office building and a BT road connecting Old National Highway-7 to Narsappaguda village. Addressing a public meeting, he explained the government's development and welfare initiatives.

During his visit to Siddapur, Ponguleti assured residents that the proposed dumping yard would be shifted to another location. He directed senior Revenue Department officials to resolve land-related issues in Vengirala village immediately and distributed Bhu Bharati pattadar passbooks to local farmers.

Reiterating the government's commitment to public welfare, he said the Indiramma government would fulfil every promise without discrimination. He urged public representatives, officials and committee members to participate in the Diwali programme and help bring happiness to poor families.
