Actor Prabhas has shared a major update on the highly anticipated animated epic Baahubali: The Eternal War , revealing that the film was officially presented at the prestigious Annecy International Animation Film Festival 2026 in France as part of its coveted Work in Progress showcase. The announcement sent the fandom into a frenzy, reigniting excitement for one of Indian cinema's most beloved franchises.

Widely regarded as the Cannes of the animation world, the Annecy Festival is among the most respected events dedicated to the craft globally. The Work in Progress segment is reserved for select projects still in production, offering early glimpses to international critics and industry insiders. The festival ran from June 21 to June 27, 2026. The inclusion of an Indian animated feature in this lineup is being seen as a landmark moment for the country's animation industry on the world stage.

The film explores the world after the death of Amarendra Baahubali , following his soul as it is thrust into a cosmic conflict between the Devas and Asuras , spanning 14 magical dimensions and combining Indian mythology with expansive fantasy elements on an unprecedented scale. Directed by Ishan Shukla and produced by Arka Media Works , the project carries a reported budget of Rs. 120 crore and is being developed as a high-end 3D animated two-part saga targeted for release in 2027 .

Prabhas and Ramya Krishna are returning to reprise their iconic roles, lending their voices to the beloved characters they made legendary in the original live-action films.
