Faridabad Police Seizes 276.8 Kg Ganja, Arrests 446 in 2026

Faridabad police has registered 334 cases under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act and arrested 446 accused, including 106 alleged suppliers and sources, as part of its anti-drug campaign in 2026, officials said on Friday.

The figures were shared during a meeting held on Thursday under the chairmanship of Faridabad Deputy Commissioner of Police (Crime) Rajesh Kumar Mohan. Senior police officers, along with the coordinator of the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB), attended the meeting, which focused on strengthening inter-agency coordination against drug trafficking.

According to an official statement, police have recovered 276.8 kg of ganja, 560.8 grams of smack, 1 kg of charas, 272.6 grams of sulfa, 3.1 grams of cocaine, 2.2 kg of opium and 17.1 grams of MDMA during the operations.

The seizures also included 582 injections, 1,677 capsules, 11,454 narcotic tablets, 200 ml of syrup and 23 MTP kits, the statement said.

Police have placed special emphasis on cases involving commercial quantities of narcotic substances, with the objective of dismantling organised drug syndicates. Under this category, 14 cases have been registered and 33 accused arrested, including 19 alleged suppliers.

In these commercial-quantity cases, police recovered 94.065 kg of ganja, 272 grams of smack, 1.076 kg of charas and 11.01 grams of MDMA, besides 386 injections, 1,645 capsules and 10,816 narcotic tablets.

Authorities have also taken action against properties linked to drug offenders. Nine properties and illegal constructions associated with such offenders have been demolished during the anti-narcotics drive.

The meeting was conducted as part of the special campaign schedule prescribed by the Haryana State Narcotics Control Bureau (HSNCB) for 2026-27, officials said.
