State Agriculture Minister Tummala Nageswara Rao on Tuesday participated in the ‘ Rythu Nestham ’ programme aimed at bringing transformative changes in the agricultural sector. The Minister interacted directly with farmers from various districts, discussing their issues and learning about their success stories.

During the programme, the Minister reviewed the implementation of the Urea App and sought feedback from farmers. Farmers said the app has made the fertiliser distribution system more transparent and efficient. They noted that timely availability of urea has helped cultivation, reduced the role of middlemen and strengthened trust in the digital system.

The Minister directed officials to further strengthen the weekly ‘Rythu Nestham’ programme conducted every Tuesday. He stressed the need to identify discussion topics in advance based on farmers’ needs and to organise field-level demonstrations and awareness programmes directly from farms, showcasing farmers’ experiences and best practices. Such initiatives, he said, would help one farmer’s experience guide others.

IFFCO State Marketing Manager Krupa Shankar explained the benefits and proper usage of Nano Urea , stating that it reduces input costs while improving yields. Scientists from PJTSAU , Dr Kiran Babu and Dr Arunashree , provided scientific guidance on pests and diseases affecting the Kharif paddy crop and their effective management.

The Minister appreciated the effective conduct of the programme and the efforts of officials and scientists in reaching out to farmers. He instructed officials to intensify publicity and coordination to ensure greater farmer participation. Agriculture Director Gopi and other senior officials attended the programme.
