Filmydice Apologises Over 'The Paradise' Merchandise Promotion Without Approval
The Paradise, starring Nani, is facing fresh controversy and release-date uncertainty just weeks before its scheduled theatrical arrival. The film’s official merchandise partner Filmydice has apologised after promotional material for premium merchandise, including products priced at nearly Rs. 25,000, triggered backlash online.
Filmydice accepted responsibility for sharing the promotional content without prior approval from ‘The Paradise’ team. The company clarified that the filmmakers had no prior knowledge or involvement, removed the content and promised to take measures to prevent similar incidents.
Meanwhile, the film’s September 24 release has come under renewed scrutiny. Although September 24 remains the officially announced date, reports suggest the film may be pushed to October 1 because crucial production work is yet to be completed.
The major concern reportedly involves pending VFX and CG work, particularly the climax, which is said to require extensive computer-generated effects. A trade report claims around Rs. 2 crore is being spent on the climax CG, with the work taking longer than expected. A song shoot and other technical work are also reportedly pending.
The makers are reportedly waiting for Nani’s final decision before confirming whether to retain September 24 or opt for a postponement. Distributors have reportedly not yet been officially informed about any change.
A shift to October 1 could also create a significant release-date situation with Venkatesh and Trivikram Srinivas’ ‘Aadarsha Kutumbham House No. 47’, which is scheduled for October 2. Trade reports have highlighted the unusual situation, particularly because producer Naga Vamsi is reportedly associated with the Nizam rights of ‘The Paradise’.
There are also reports that the Hindi version could face a separate delay, though no official confirmation has been issued.
Directed by Srikanth Odela and produced by Sudhakar Cherukuri under SLV Cinemas, ‘The Paradise’ stars Nani, Kayadu Lohar, Mohan Babu, Raghav Juyal, Sampoornesh Babu and others, with Anirudh Ravichander composing the music.
For now, September 24 remains the official release date, but the next few days could determine whether ‘The Paradise’ finally sticks to it or moves to October.
