Finland President Alexander Stubb to Begin Four-Day India Visit Tomorrow

President of Finland Dr Alexander Stubb will undertake a four-day state visit to India from the 4th of this month, the External Affairs Ministry confirmed. This will be his first visit to India in his current capacity , and he will be accompanied by a high-level delegation comprising ministers, senior officials and business leaders.

During his stay, President Stubb will serve as the Chief Guest and Keynote Speaker at the 11th Raisina Dialogue 2026 in New Delhi, highlighting Finland’s engagement with India on global policy discussions. The visit is seen as a reflection of the growing partnership between the two nations.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will hold discussions with President Stubb on strengthening bilateral cooperation across a wide range of sectors. The leaders are expected to exchange views on regional and global issues of mutual interest, including collaboration in multilateral platforms. The Prime Minister will also host a lunch in honour of the visiting dignitary.

President Stubb will meet President Droupadi Murmu , while Vice President CP Radhakrishnan and External Affairs Minister Dr S Jaishankar will call on him during the visit, reinforcing high-level diplomatic engagement.

After official engagements in New Delhi, President Stubb will travel to Mumbai , where he will meet the Governor and Chief Minister of Maharashtra . He will interact with Indian business leaders, attend an India–Finland business event, and address students at the University of Mumbai, focusing on economic cooperation and academic ties.

India and Finland share warm and multi-faceted relations based on democratic values. Finland is a valued partner for India in the European Union and the Nordic region . The visit follows the recent trip of Finland’s Prime Minister Petteri Orpo to India for the AI Impact Summit , underscoring efforts to deepen cooperation and strengthen people-to-people linkages.
