Nandamuri Harikrishna, son of legendary actor and former Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N.T. Rama Rao, brother of actor-politician Nandamuri Balakrishna, and father of actors Jr NTR and Kalyan Ram, would have turned 70 on September 2, 2026. On his birth anniversary, his sons remembered him with emotional social media tributes, celebrating the lasting impact he continues to have on their lives.

Jr NTR shared a deeply emotional message, remembering his father as the person who shaped their identity and continues to guide their journey. The actor wrote, “You are our very identity, our personality, and the guiding force of this journey that marches on with unyielding courage; you are the tear we will hold close for a lifetime.” He also shared a post in Telugu commemorating his father’s 70th birth anniversary.

Harikrishna is remembered for his fearless personality, memorable screen presence and strong individuality. Born on September 2, 1956, in Nimmakuru, he was the fourth son of N.T. Rama Rao. He entered the film industry as a child artiste and appeared in films including ‘Thalla? Pellama?’, ‘Tatamma Kala’, ‘Ram Raheem’ and ‘Daana Veera Soora Karna’.

After spending considerable time in politics, Harikrishna returned to acting and earned appreciation for his performances in films such as ‘Lahiri Lahiri Lahirilo’, ‘Seetayya’ and ‘Siva Rama Raju’. His performances and distinctive personality earned him a special place among Telugu cinema audiences.

Harikrishna also played an important role in Telugu politics. He was closely associated with his father NTR’s political journey and famously drove the Chaitanya Ratham, the campaign vehicle used by NTR during his extensive political tour across Andhra Pradesh. He later served as a Rajya Sabha member and remained associated with the Telugu Desam Party.

Harikrishna passed away in a road accident on August 29, 2018, at the age of 61. His sudden demise left a deep void in the Nandamuri family and among his countless admirers.
