Former Andhra Pradesh Deputy CM Alla Nani Dies of Heart Attack at 56

Former Andhra Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Alla Kali Krishna Srinivas (Alla Nani) died of a heart attack on Tuesday at the age of 56. Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu, along with several TDP leaders, expressed deep condolences over his death.

Reacting to the former minister’s sudden demise, Chandrababu Naidu said he was deeply shocked and saddened by the news. He described Nani’s death at such a young age as particularly painful and extended his heartfelt sympathies to the bereaved family. The Chief Minister also prayed for Nani’s soul to rest in peace.

TDP working president and IT Minister Nara Lokesh also expressed grief over Nani’s death. Lokesh said the news had come as a major shock and paid tribute to the former minister’s memory. Recalling Nani’s public life, he said the leader had maintained friendly relations with people across political lines and generally stayed away from controversies. Lokesh conveyed his deepest condolences to Nani’s family during the difficult period.

Former Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy also expressed shock over the death. Jagan said Nani’s demise had deeply saddened him and offered his condolences to the former minister’s family. He prayed for strength and courage for the bereaved family to cope with the loss.

Nani had held key responsibilities during the previous YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) government in Andhra Pradesh. He served as the state’s Deputy Chief Minister and also handled the Health and Medical Services portfolio, playing a prominent role in the administration during his tenure.

His political career also included several electoral contests. In the 2024 Andhra Pradesh Assembly elections, Nani contested the Eluru constituency on a YSRCP ticket. However, he was defeated by TDP candidate B. Radhakrishnaiah.

Following the election defeat, Nani subsequently resigned from the YSRCP and joined the Telugu Desam Party (TDP). His death marks the end of the political journey of a leader who had held significant responsibilities in the state government and remained active in Andhra Pradesh politics.

The sudden passing of the former Deputy Chief Minister has drawn condolences from leaders across the political spectrum, with several recalling his approachable nature and cordial relations with others.
