Former Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar Undergoes Angioplasty in Jaipur, Stable After Procedure
Former Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar underwent a planned angioplasty at a private hospital in Jaipur on Friday after doctors recommended the procedure during a routine cardiac evaluation.
According to hospital sources, Dhankhar had been admitted to the hospital near Jawahar Circle for scheduled medical examinations. As part of the assessment, doctors conducted a series of cardiac investigations, following which they advised an angioplasty. The procedure was carried out later the same day as part of a pre planned medical evaluation.
Sources familiar with the development said the angioplasty was not an emergency intervention but was undertaken after doctors reviewed the results of the cardiac tests. The procedure formed part of a carefully planned assessment aimed at ensuring the former vice president's heart health.
During his stay at the hospital, former Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot visited Dhankhar to enquire about his health and wished him a speedy recovery. The visit reflected concern across political circles following news of the former vice president's hospitalisation.
Hospital sources also said that Dhankhar is undergoing treatment under the supervision of noted cardiologist Dr Sameen Sharma , who had travelled from the United States for the medical evaluation and procedure.
No official statement regarding Dhankhar's discharge or recovery timeline had been issued at the time of writing. However, sources indicated that the angioplasty was successfully completed and formed part of a scheduled treatment plan rather than an emergency medical response.
The development has drawn attention from leaders across party lines, with many expected to wish the veteran leader a swift and complete recovery.
