Superstar Rajinikanth’s Jailer 2 has reportedly grossed around ₹424.25 crore worldwide within four days of its release, marking a powerful start for the Tamil action entertainer. Directed by Nelson Dilipkumar and produced by Sun Pictures, the film hit theatres on October 15 and has attracted audiences across India and overseas markets.

According to box-office tracking estimates, the sequel collected approximately ₹55.85 crore net in India on Sunday, up from an estimated ₹47.25 crore on Saturday. Its four-day domestic net collection reportedly reached ₹199.90 crore, while the worldwide gross stood at ₹424.25 crore.

The film’s estimated domestic gross was around ₹234.25 crore, with overseas markets contributing approximately ₹190 crore. On Sunday, it recorded theatre occupancy of nearly 62 per cent across 15,473 shows, reflecting strong audience turnout. Collection figures may vary among tracking agencies, and the reported totals have not necessarily been independently verified.

Rajinikanth reprises his role as Tiger Muthuvel Pandian, the retired jailer at the centre of the franchise. The ensemble cast includes Mohanlal, Shiva Rajkumar, Jackie Shroff, S.J. Suryah, Vidya Balan, Mithun Chakraborty, Ramya Krishnan, Yogi Babu, Mirnaa and Suraj Venjaramoodu. Bollywood star Hrithik Roshan is also reported to make a special appearance.

Anirudh Ravichander’s music adds to the film’s action-packed presentation, while the combination of Rajinikanth’s screen presence, comedy, action sequences and high-profile guest appearances has helped generate interest across Tamil, Telugu, Hindi and international markets.

The sequel follows the success of the 2023 blockbuster Jailer and has quickly emerged as one of the major Tamil releases of 2026. Sun Pictures described the film’s performance as a “box-office rampage”, while Nelson said theatres were “going bonkers”. Actress Mirnaa also hailed it as a “mega blockbuster”.

With its strong opening weekend, the film’s next milestone will be whether it can sustain its momentum and approach the ₹500-crore worldwide mark.
