Four Students Killed, One Injured in Tekkali Train Accident

A tragic railway accident in Ravivalasa area of Tekkali town in Srikakulam district claimed the lives of four students on Wednesday after they were hit by a train while crossing the railway tracks. Another student suffered serious injuries in the incident. The accident occurred at around 1 pm, according to district Superintendent of Police KV Maheshwar Reddy.

The deceased were all under 20 years of age and belonged to villages located near the accident site. According to officials, the students were crossing the railway track when they were struck by the approaching train. Initial information indicated that they had failed to notice the train coming towards them, resulting in the fatal accident.

The impact of the collision was severe, leaving four students dead at the spot. The injured student was identified as Salman Raj, who sustained serious injuries in the accident. He was shifted to the Tekkali District Hospital, where he is currently undergoing treatment. Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu directed officials to ensure that the injured student receives immediate and appropriate medical attention. He also asked the authorities to make arrangements for better treatment if required.

The deceased were identified as Vishwaroop, Dileep Kumar, Shiva and Sharath Kumar. The Chief Minister directed officials to extend all possible assistance to the bereaved families and ensure that the injured student receives the necessary medical care.

The tragic incident also drew condolences from Governor Abdul Nazeer, Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan and former Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy. They expressed grief over the loss of the young lives and conveyed their sympathies to the families of the victims.
