
From AI Healthcare to Smart Panchayats, 17 Projects Shine at National Digital Awards 2026
India’s push towards a digitally empowered governance system received a major boost as 17 projects and initiatives were selected for the National Awards for e Governance 2026 , recognising outstanding work in citizen centric digital services across the country.
The awards, presented under the Ministry of Personnel, Public Grievances and Pensions , celebrate innovation, efficiency, and inclusivity in public service delivery through technology. This year’s edition highlights how digital transformation is reshaping services from agriculture and healthcare to justice and grassroots governance.
Out of the 17 award winning initiatives, 10 projects received Gold Awards , 6 were honoured with Silver Awards , and 1 project received the Jury Award , reflecting excellence across multiple levels of government and institutions.
Among the major Gold Award winners is Agri Stack under the Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare, aimed at strengthening digital agriculture services for farmers. The e Jagriti initiative from the Ministry of Consumer Affairs was also recognised for improving consumer grievance redressal systems and transparency.
Healthcare innovation stood out strongly with the AI enabled Clinical Decision Support System integrated into the eSanjeevani telemedicine platform , helping doctors make faster and more accurate decisions in remote consultations.
In the justice sector, the District Court Case Management System (DCMS) in Kerala was awarded for streamlining case tracking and judicial efficiency. The ICMR MINDS project was also honoured for integrating mental health and substance use disorder care with non communicable disease management at scale.
Cyber security and digital safety remained a key focus area. Projects like ISRO Space Applications Centre’s threat intelligence and DNS filtering system , and Bank of Baroda’s integrated cyber security framework , were recognised for strengthening India’s digital resilience .
At the grassroots level, initiatives such as Pune 360 , E Aarogya Dhamni in Maharashtra, and innovative Gram Panchayat digital governance projects in Maharashtra and Tripura showcased how e-governance is reaching local communities and improving everyday public services.
A major highlight was TRINETRA , an AI based video surveillance system for the Mahakal temple area in Ujjain, enhancing crowd management and public safety through smart monitoring tools.
The Jury Award went to the Survey of India for its Real Time Precise Positioning Services through the CORS network, marking a significant advancement in geospatial accuracy and navigation systems.
The awards will be presented at the 29th National Conference on e Governance in Jaipur , where winning organisations will also receive financial incentives to further scale their initiatives.
The 2026 edition of the awards reflects a clear shift towards data driven governance, artificial intelligence adoption, and grassroots digital inclusion, reinforcing India’s vision of a more connected and efficient public service ecosystem.
