The Telugu Desam Party (TDP) has extended financial assistance of Rs 5 lakh to the family of a party activist who died in a road accident recently. Guntur West MLA Galla Madhavi handed over the welfare fund cheque to the deceased activist’s wife, Dittakunta Tulasamma, on Wednesday.

The deceased, D. Anjireddy, was a TDP activist from AT Agraharam in Guntur. Following his death in the accident, financial assistance was sanctioned to his family through the party’s Activists’ Welfare Fund. The cheque was formally handed over to Tulasamma by the MLA as part of the party’s support mechanism for workers and their families during difficult circumstances.

Speaking on the occasion, Galla Madhavi said the TDP would remain supportive of its workers and their families. She said party president and Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu and Minister Nara Lokesh were giving special attention to the welfare of party activists.

Madhavi said the welfare fund was designed to provide financial support to families of party workers facing hardships. She added that the party recognised the contribution of grassroots workers and would continue extending assistance to families in times of need.

The MLA subsequently held a grievance programme for NDA alliance leaders and party workers in the constituency. During the programme, leaders and activists submitted petitions relating to various issues and personally brought their concerns to her notice.

Madhavi listened to the grievances and assured the petitioners that their representations would be taken up with the concerned government officials. She said necessary steps would be initiated to address the issues after coordinating with the relevant departments.

The MLA said resolving public grievances remained an important responsibility, while the concerns of party leaders and workers would also receive due attention. She emphasised the need to ensure that problems brought forward by grassroots-level workers were properly examined and taken up with the appropriate authorities.

The welfare assistance to Anjireddy’s family and the subsequent grievance programme reflected the party’s efforts to provide support to its workers while addressing issues raised by the NDA alliance cadre.
