GHMC Review Meeting: Minister Orders Speedy Execution of SRDP, H-City Works

A high-level review meeting on Hyderabad’s development was held at the GHMC headquarters on Wednesday under the chairmanship of Hyderabad District In-charge Minister Ponnam Prabhakar . The meeting was attended by Mayor Gadwal Vijayalakshmi , Deputy Mayor Mothe Srilatha , GHMC Commissioner RV Karnan , RTC Managing Director Nagireddy , along with additional commissioners, zonal commissioners, deputy commissioners and senior officials from various departments.

During the meeting, the minister conducted a comprehensive review of ongoing development programmes within the GHMC limits , pending works, the city’s sanitation conditions, the H-City project , and the progress of works being carried out in multiple phases under the Strategic Road Development Programme (SRDP) . He instructed officials to ensure that all works are completed swiftly without causing inconvenience to the public.

Minister Ponnam Prabhakar laid special emphasis on sanitation. As part of the plan to transform Hyderabad into a “Clean and Green City,” he said specific responsibilities have been assigned to engineering officials. The meeting held detailed discussions on the action plans they must implement and the monitoring mechanisms to ensure effective supervision.

He further directed officials not to show negligence in areas such as garbage collection, sanitation management, road cleanliness, and drain cleaning , stressing that public health must remain a top priority. The minister underlined the need for greater coordination, transparency, and speed in implementing development works across the city.
