
Godavari Pushkaralu 2027: Cabinet Sub - Committee Holds First Review
The Telangana government has initiated early preparations for the Godavari Pushkaralu 2027 , one of the most significant spiritual gatherings in the region, with a Cabinet Sub-Committee holding its first review meeting at the State Secretariat on Tuesday.
The meeting, chaired by Duddilla Sridhar Babu , focused on drawing up a comprehensive plan to ensure smooth conduct of the festival, which is expected to attract millions of devotees from across the country. Officials briefed the ministers on proposed arrangements related to transport facilities, development of Pushkar ghats, infrastructure upgrades, and security measures along the river.
Ministers stressed the need for meticulous planning to manage the massive influx of pilgrims during the festival, scheduled to take place from June 26 to July 7, 2027 . Authorities were directed to ensure that devotees visiting the riverbanks face no inconvenience during the 12-day event.
During the meeting, Ponguleti Srinivasa Reddy proposed the creation of a spiritual temple circuit along the Godavari river basin , linking major pilgrimage centres between Basara and Bhadrachalam . The initiative aims to allow devotees to visit several prominent temples through a single organised route while also promoting spiritual tourism in the region.
The committee also discussed the need for a special master plan to upgrade road connectivity to key temples , including the well-known Kondagattu Anjaneya Swamy temple . Officials were asked to strengthen transport networks and improve access routes so that pilgrims can travel comfortably during the festival period.
Highlighting the broader importance of the event, the committee noted that the Godavari Pushkaralu hold immense spiritual, cultural, and tourism significance for Telangana. Departments were advised to coordinate closely and begin preparations well in advance to ensure the event is organised smoothly and safely.
The meeting was attended by ministers Ponguleti Srinivasa Reddy, Konda Surekha, Tummala Nageswara Rao, Komatireddy Venkat Reddy, and Adluri Laxman Kumar , along with government advisors and senior officials.
