Godavarikhani Youth Undertake 400-Km Cycle Rally Seeking KCR’s Return as Telangana CM
A group of 10 young men from Godavarikhani undertook an eight-day, 400-kilometre cycle journey across Telangana, calling for the return of former Chief Minister and BRS president K. Chandrashekar Rao (KCR) to power to address the state's irrigation and agricultural problems. Led by former corporator and BRS town president Boddu Ravinder, the group travelled from Medigadda in the Kaleshwaram project to Kondapochamma Sagar, using the journey to highlight the difficulties faced by farmers in different parts of the state.
After completing the expedition, the cyclists met KCR at his residence in Erravelli and shared their experiences from the eight-day journey. They brought to his attention the difficulties faced by farming communities, particularly inadequate irrigation facilities, disruptions in electricity supply, dried-up borewells and crop losses. To underline the distress among farmers, the participants also showed him dried paddy ears, describing the hardships experienced by cultivators who are struggling to protect their crops.
The participants alleged that agricultural activity in Telangana had come under pressure due to irrigation and power supply problems under the Congress government. They told KCR that they had interacted with farmers, women and people belonging to different occupational communities during their journey. According to them, people had openly expressed their concerns over the prevailing situation and recalled the importance given to agriculture during the previous BRS government.
The cyclists claimed that several people wanted the agricultural support measures introduced during the BRS regime to return. They also conveyed that farmers were looking for stronger leadership to address their concerns, protect their livelihoods and restore confidence in the agricultural sector. The group further expressed the view that KCR should return as Chief Minister to resolve the state's irrigation-related challenges. As a symbolic gesture, they presented Godavari river water to the BRS chief.
Responding to the initiative, KCR congratulated the participants for undertaking the long-distance journey and appreciated their efforts to understand people's problems by travelling through different areas. He expressed confidence that people's aspirations would be fulfilled.
Apart from Boddu Ravinder, the participants included Uppu Raj Kumar, Kasipaka Vasu, Arepalli Sareesh, Mekala Naveen Kumar, Paripalli Anil Kumar, Gundevana Srinivas Yadav, Manchineella Rakesh, Muthyam Lakshman Goud and Ammu Kumar.
