
Goldy Dhillon Arrested in Spain, Extradition Process to India Initiated
Notorious gangster Gurpreet Singh alias Goldy Dhillon has been arrested in Spain and the process for his extradition to India has been set in motion, police sources confirmed on Saturday.
Dhillon, a wanted criminal facing multiple serious charges including murder, kidnapping, extortion, robbery, attempt to murder, rioting, and illegal arms trafficking , was apprehended following a coordinated international operation involving the Punjab Police Anti-Gangster Task Force Punjab Police Anti-Gangster Task Force along with other security agencies.
Officials said Dhillon had been on the run since 2022, when he fled India and initially took refuge in Germany Germany before relocating across Europe. He was earlier linked to the Goldy Brar–Lawrence Bishnoi crime network , which has been associated with several high-profile organized crime cases in northern India.
Investigators also suspect Dhillon’s involvement in the June 13 Chandigarh pharmacy cashier murder case , where Janki Das (45) was shot dead in broad daylight in Sector 11, Chandigarh Chandigarh. Several arrests have already been made in connection with the case.
The National Investigation Agency (NIA) National Investigation Agency had earlier announced a ₹10 lakh reward for information leading to his capture, underscoring his significance in India’s most-wanted list.
Authorities said legal formalities for extradition are currently underway, and Dhillon is expected to be brought back to India for further investigation and prosecution in multiple pending cases.
