Government Clears ₹16 Crore Road Development Works in Andole Constituency
In a major boost to infrastructure development in the Andole Assembly constituency, the Telangana government has approved road improvement projects worth ₹16 crore in five villages that recently came under the Hyderabad Metropolitan Region (HMR) limits in Choutkur Mandal.
The projects were sanctioned following the efforts and initiative of State Health Minister Damodar Rajanarasimha , who has been pursuing enhanced infrastructure development in the constituency. The approved works include the construction of bituminous (BT) roads, cement concrete (CC) roads, and side drains , aimed at improving connectivity and civic amenities in rural areas.
The sanctioned projects will benefit the villages of Venkatakishtapur, Lingampally, Korpol, Shivampet, and Vendikol , where residents have long sought better road infrastructure and transportation facilities.
According to the approved plan, ₹4.50 crore has been allocated for the construction of a 3-kilometre BT road connecting Venkatakishtapur and Lingampally . Another ₹4 crore has been earmarked for a 3-kilometre BT road from NH-161 to Sultanpur–Korpol .
In Shivampet village, the government has sanctioned ₹1 crore for the development of CC roads and side drains covering 0.50 kilometres . The largest component of the package is the construction of a 5-kilometre BT road from NH-161 to Shivampet–Vendikol , for which ₹6.50 crore has been approved.
Officials said the projects are expected to play a crucial role in strengthening infrastructure in villages that were recently integrated into the HMR jurisdiction. Improved road connectivity is likely to ease transportation, reduce travel difficulties for residents, and support economic and social development in the region.
The works are also expected to enhance access to essential services and improve overall mobility for people living in these rural areas. Authorities noted that the road projects form part of broader efforts to accelerate development and provide better public infrastructure across the Andole constituency.
The government reiterated its commitment to ensuring balanced development in rural regions, with a focus on creating durable infrastructure that meets the growing needs of local communities.
