Government Wants Women To Lead Industries, Not Just Hold Bank Passbooks: Minister Seethakka
Stressing that women should emerge as entrepreneurs and industry leaders rather than remain limited to welfare beneficiaries, Telangana Panchayat Raj Minister Dr Danasari Anasuya (Seethakka) said the State government is building a strong ecosystem to support women-led enterprises across rural and urban areas.
The Minister was speaking after inaugurating special women entrepreneurship incubator centres at the Komaram Bheem Adivasi Bhavan in Banjara Hills on Friday. The initiative has been launched to provide financial, technical and business support to aspiring women entrepreneurs.
Addressing the gathering, Seethakka said the government’s vision was to place industries and businesses in the hands of women, not merely bank passbooks. She noted that the new incubator centres were designed to transform the entrepreneurial ideas and business aspirations of rural women into successful ventures.
Calling the initiative a “major economic movement” for Telangana women, the Minister said the centres would help women move beyond dependence on government schemes and encourage them to establish and manage their own enterprises independently.
She announced that the incubators were being set up in partnership with T-Hub and BITS Pilani , aiming to provide world-class innovation and mentoring support for women entrepreneurs. The government has allocated Rs 10.70 crore for each incubator under the project.
According to the Minister, the centres will offer comprehensive assistance including business training, branding, marketing strategies, digital support, financial guidance and expert mentoring services free of cost to women entrepreneurs from both rural and urban backgrounds.
The programme was attended by SERP CEO Divya Devarajan , T-Hub CEO Kavikrut , WE Hub CEO Sita Pallacholla , members of district women federations, self-help groups and several young entrepreneurs.
