Greater Noida Factory Fire Turns Fatal as Two Firefighters Die, Three Hurt

Two firefighters lost their lives and three others were injured after a major fire broke out at an electronic chip manufacturing facility in Greater Noida’s Ecotech-3 industrial area. The incident occurred late Monday night at the ILGIM company premises, where fire teams carried out a prolonged operation to bring the blaze under control.

Police officials said the fire department received information about the incident following which several fire tenders were deployed at the factory. While firefighters were battling the flames inside the unit, a part of the building structure suddenly collapsed, causing injuries to five personnel engaged in the rescue operation.

The injured firefighters were rushed to a hospital for immediate medical care. Two personnel, Rohit Yadav and Tirathpal Singh, later died while undergoing treatment. The other three firefighters Rajpal Singh, Manish Kumar and Amit Kumar were admitted for treatment and their condition remains stable, according to officials.

Senior police officers and a team from the State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) reached the site after the incident. Rescue teams continued efforts to secure the premises and assess the extent of damage caused by the fire.

Officials said the reason behind the fire has not been established yet. A detailed investigation is being conducted to determine the origin of the blaze and examine the circumstances that led to the structural collapse during firefighting efforts.

Authorities have assured that appropriate action will be taken after the investigation report is submitted. The incident has also brought renewed focus on industrial safety practices and emergency preparedness at manufacturing units operating in industrial zones.
